In this lively episode of the Grace Life Podcast, Joel and Hal kick things off with their usual humor and banter before diving into a wide-ranging conversation.
The discussion begins with a fascinating concept called “Me-ology”—a term describing the modern tendency to interpret life, marriage, and even Scripture through the lens of self-fulfillment and feelings. Joel and Hal contrast this mindset with the apostle Paul’s emphasis on humility, sacrifice, and finding true validation in who we are in Christ.
From there, the conversation explores the supernatural design of the Bible itself, highlighting how the 66 books written across thousands of years form one integrated message that could only come from divine inspiration.
They also unpack insights from a series on “zealously affecting” believers—examining how emotional manipulation in religion can lead people away from sound doctrine and how stability comes from rightly dividing Scripture rather than chasing spiritual hype.
Then the show shifts into live Q&A, tackling a variety of deep and practical Bible questions, including:
Why passages like James 5 about healing are often misunderstood today• The prophetic meaning of the Abomination of Desolation• Whether Deuteronomy’s “hand and forehead” language relates to the mark of the beast• What Paul meant when he said “all things are yours” in Christ• The relationship between repentance, works, and faith across different biblical dispensations
Along the way, Joel and Hal share personal reflections, theological insights, and plenty of laughter while encouraging listeners to anchor their lives not in emotions or religious hype—but in the finished work of Christ and the doctrines of grace.
If you enjoy deep Bible study, honest questions, and a little friendly theological debate, this episode is packed with insights you won’t want to miss! Come join us! PTL!

In this lively Open Chat Friday episode of the Grace Life Podcast, Joel welcomes the fellowship for a wide-ranging and engaging discussion that blends humor, music, theology, and live Bible questions. The episode kicks off with a fun debut of songs from the new fictional “Grace Mixtape” album, including a vintage-style 1950s doo-wop track celebrating the grace of God and a country gospel tune about identification with Christ. From there, Joel dives into a humorous take on recent Bigfoot sightings in Ohio, turning the story into a spiritual illustration about humanity’s fascination with mysterious things while often overlooking the far greater mystery revealed in Scripture. The conversation also explores a remarkable story about 52 couples in a Texas megachurch choosing marriage after a sermon on cohabitation, reflections on spiritual growth from Joel’s article on the characteristics of spiritual babes, and a thoughtful look at the depth of Paul’s letter to Philemon and the grace-filled appeal surrounding Onesimus. Along the way, Joel interacts with live questions from listeners, tackles theological topics like the “gospel of God,” identification with Christ, and the believer’s blessings in Christ, and encourages everyone to study Scripture for themselves as Bereans. In this episode of the Grace Life Podcast, Joel opens with the debut of a brand-new song based on Ephesians 4:13—a verse rarely turned into music—celebrating the believer’s growth “unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” From there, the conversation turns to a gripping real-world story of a missionary pilot who found himself face-to-face with an armed hijacker at 30,000 feet and chose not panic—but the gospel. Joel reflects on what it means to live as an ambassador for Christ in dangerous and unexpected moments, unpacking the power of the gospel, the message of grace, and why the hope of eternal life is the most important thing anyone can hear—even in the cockpit of a hijacked airplane. Along the way, the episode weaves together encouraging fellowship with listeners, updates from the grace community, reflections on identity in Christ from Romans 6 and Galatians 2, and thoughtful discussion about speaking the truth with grace and love in everyday life. It’s a lively, heartfelt episode filled with scripture, real-world application, humor, and bold gospel encouragement you won’t want to miss. Come join us! PTL!

In today’s Grace Life Podcast, Joel and Hal tackle the timely and weighty topic of Christians & War, exploring everything from a possible military draft to conscientious objection, Romans 13, just war theory, civil disobedience, and how a Mid-Acts dispensational perspective shapes a believer’s response to government authority. With candid back-and-forth, personal reflections (including Vietnam-era draft memories), and thoughtful interaction with live listeners, the conversation wrestles honestly with hard questions: Should a Christian serve if drafted? When is resistance biblical? How do conscience, testimony, and submission to authority fit together? Along the way, they also dive into Romans 14, spiritual warfare, demon possession, apologetics, aliens (yes, again!), and the importance of standing on truth rather than personalities. It’s a lively, unscripted, deeply biblical discussion that challenges you to think clearly, hold your convictions humbly, and anchor your decisions in grace and Scripture! Come join us! PTL!

In today’s lively Open Chat Friday episode, we dove headfirst into one of the wildest topics we’ve ever tackled: UFOs and extraterrestrials—asking whether Scripture leaves any room for alien life and what it would mean theologically if it did. From Hebrews 9 and the “once-for-all” sacrifice of Christ, to Adam as federal head, the uniqueness of the incarnation, the image of God, the body of Christ, and even end-times implications in Revelation, we explored the biblical arguments both for and against extraterrestrial life—while also addressing modern media narratives, psychological operations, and cultural conditioning around UFO disclosure. Along the way, we celebrated new Neo-Soul Gospel music, interacted with the live chat on everything from Ephesians 4:13 to the mark of the beast, and kept the conversation classic Grace Life—thoughtful, bold, humorous, and unapologetically mid-Acts. If you’ve ever wondered how grace theology intersects with aliens, prophecy, and pop culture, this one’s for you! Come join us! PTL!

In this solo episode of the Grace Life Podcast, Joel kicks things off with original music (“Finished Means Forever”) and a big ministry update—sharing that Fellowship Bible Church has officially taken the reins of the Florida Regional Grace Conference. From there, the conversation dives deep into the growing trend of churches embracing Lent, unpacking its historical roots, Roman Catholic sacramental theology, and why—especially from a mid-Acts, grace perspective—ritual observance cannot add to the all-sufficiency of Christ’s finished work at the cross. Joel contrasts tradition with Paul’s clear warnings about observing religious days and emphasizes that renewal, forgiveness, and hope come through the Word rightly divided—not through liturgical systems. The episode also explores the controversy surrounding Codex Sinaiticus and modern textual criticism, offering a passionate defense of biblical preservation, before shifting into rich, practical encouragement from 2 Corinthians on suffering, endurance, and grace-empowered living. It’s a wide-ranging, convictional, and pastoral monologue—equal parts theology, cultural commentary, and heartfelt exhortation for saints who want to stand firmly on “finished means forever.” Come join us! In this lively and wide-ranging Open Chat Friday episode of the Grace Life Podcast, Joel and Hal kick things off with an original Neo-Soul Gospel track, then dive deep into what grace-based leadership looks like in a secular workplace. Using recent Barna research as a springboard, they explore whether a grace-believing CEO would actually lead differently—discussing stewardship, integrity, profitability, humility, “acceptance-based performance,” speech seasoned with grace, and the tension between character and corporate pressure. Along the way, Hal shares personal stories from his sales and management experience, including standing up to upper management when values clashed with profit models. The conversation then opens up to the live audience, touching on Acts commentaries, AI in ministry, prophecy and contingencies, Daniel 9:27 and the Antichrist’s covenant, the nature of Christ’s descent in Ephesians 4, and even end-times speculation. It’s classic Grace Life—practical, theological, candid, and occasionally rabbit-trail-worthy—in a discussion that blends workplace wisdom, mid-Acts dispensational insight, and real-time interaction with the mad, bad family. In this wide-ranging and eye-opening episode of the Grace Life Podcast, Joel sits down with Richard Church, Executive Director of Grace Beyond Borders, and “Paul,” a veteran missionary serving in a sensitive Southeast Asian country, for an unforgettable conversation about global grace ministry. They discuss the changing face of missions (with indigenous missionaries now leading the charge), the theological and practical challenges of cross-cultural church planting, and the powerful impact of rightly dividing the Word in places steeped in Buddhism, Islam, legalism, and prosperity teaching. Paul shares firsthand stories of evangelizing under communist restrictions, navigating anti-conversion risks, planting churches discreetly (yes—complete with “birthday party” cover stories), and building a Christian school that will double as a ministry hub. The conversation also explores thriving grace works in Nigeria, Thailand, Indonesia, and beyond—including testimonies of former Muslims and legalists transformed by the message of grace. If you’ve ever wondered how the gospel of grace is advancing in hard places—and how you might be part of it—this episode will stir your heart and expand your vision. Come join us! PTL!

Questions
Here's the biggest question I can ask you: why did Christ die on a cross? I suspect most know the answer, and that is He paid for our sins (1 Cor. 15:1-4). Paid in what sense? He took on the penalty, the consequence, for your sins (Rom. 3:25). If you place your faith in Christ and in His death, burial, and resurrection as payment for all your sins, then God the Father will give you that free gift of eternal life (Rom. 5:15-18).
Here's the second biggest question I can ask you: if you're a believer, do you know who you are in Christ? You're now identified with Christ in His victory for you on the cross. The Father now sees you as dead, buried, and risen with His Son (Rom. 6:3-4). You're now complete in Him (Col. 2:10), forgiven all trespasses (Col. 2:13), already seated in heavenly places (Eph. 2:6), and sealed by the Spirit (Eph. 1:13), which means you have eternal security.
Do you know who you are in Christ and how to live in light of those precious truths?
